Laboratory

Laboratory

Many laboratory methods are performed directly at our clinic. The most common diagnostic procedures include microbiological, haematological and biochemical tests. We can perform these tests not only on dogs and cats, but also on rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, rats or exotic birds or reptiles. If it is necessary to send a sample to a specialized laboratory, we will collect the clinical material and take care of its delivery.

Microbiology

In microbiology, the microscope is our truest friend. With its help we can diagnose many mycological agents of skin diseases, protozoan parasites or worm eggs in faeces. However, macroscopic ectoparasites such as fleas, lice, mites, ticks, roundworms, velvet mites and others, which we can deal with with the help of a magnifying glass, are often responsible for skin problems in animals.

Blood smear examination

Detection of blood-parasites

Immunochromatography

4Dx SNAP test (heartworm, Lyme disease, ehrlichia, anaplasma), FeLV/FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus and feline leukemia), FIP FAST test (detection of antibodies against feline coronavirus, which causes feline infectious peritonitis).

Skin, hair and feather examination

Detection of skin parasites, dermatophytes, yeast and bacterial infection.

Ear examination

Detection of yeast and bacterial infection, ear parasites.

Coprological examination

Detection of intestinal parasites.

Haematology and Biochemistry

At our clinic we perform hematological and biochemical blood tests on demand. It sounds like science fiction, but high-quality analyzers actually allow us to know the results within 20 minutes after collection.

Biochemical blood examination

Total blood profile, preoperative examination, liver and kidney markers, ion status

Hematological blood examination

Morphological examination of blood elements, determination of blood properties

BNP natriur

Immunochromatographic detection of cardiovascular disease markers

cPL pes

Immunochromatographic detection of canine pancreatitis markers

Biochemical urine examination

Semi-quantitative urine analysis with diagnostic strips

Urology

In addition to biochemical determination of pH, leukocytes, glucose, proteins, hemoglobin and urobilinogen, we also focus on microscopic examination of urinary sediment.

Refractometer examination

Determination of urine density

Microscopic examination of urinary sediment

Detection of uroliths or blood

Cytology

An examination of tissues or fluids that evaluates the structure and appearance of cells.
